This is a fun, interesting, dynamic and varied role for a multi-talented intermediate Linux/IT Administrator, working for a good cause: supporting K-12 education! This is a remote work position with flexible hours, and you must be a resident of Canada. Although we’re based in Vancouver/Victoria, you’ll be expected to be available by 10am Eastern/7am Pacific to help support our East Coast customers.
Reporting to the CEO of this EdTech startup company (small, but stable - we’ve been around for 10 years), you’ll play a critical role in of this SaaS business, managing and improving our cloud-based IT systems, supporting our experienced software engineers, and onboarding customers and keeping them happy. Your time will be split between interesting new IT projects, routine server management, QA, customer onboarding, and customer support.
You have fluent English (spoken and written), a diploma (2 - 4 year) or equivalent, great interpersonal skills, ability to work both independently and in a team, and a track record of taking initiative. You are accomplished with Linux server administration and Excel/Sheets, and are a power user of your iPhone/Android smartphone. You also have experience with many or all of the following: IT help desk/support, IT security, education (EdTech, IT, teaching, anything education-related!), Google Workspace Administration, HTML/CSS, SQL, scripting/coding (e.g. Javascript, Python), Apple Developer Program, Google Cloud (or Azure etc.), github, and software testing.
